Comments: homeless in snow

This picture makes me sad because as awful as it would be to be homeless at any time, it can't get much worse than homeless in the dead of Canadian winter. Sometimes I go to take out the trash and I'm so cold and all I think is, "Thank whoever is up there for the fact that I'm not homeless."

It sort of puts a better perspective when I want to whine and complain about silly meaningless things when I see something like this. What DO I have to complain about as I sit here in my warm apartment, sheltered from the cold, typing away at my computer?

Did you give him some change?

Thats cold. The emptiness of the image frames the subject and isolates him.

A nice simple shot. Just goes to show that no matter where we are in the world, there are always people much worse off. Well done

It was a pleasent surprise to find some humans in ur art, real good as usual, as usual never is the object in absolute middle giving it a distinctive touch, don't know if it's intentional or accidental, but increased deatiled background of the person adds to the emotions. i live at http://subiet4u.blogspot.com

The facial expression and the stature of the homeless guys is pathetically real.

It is high time to take photos of the homeless in Toronto, as the mayor is bent on collecting them...

thats sort of depressing; why is he sitting in the snow?

Great photo. Very well captured. The colours are great too. (Im kind of suprised that his clothes look as clean and colourful as they do.)

The subject matter sure is something to think about. It makes me thankful for everything I have in life.

Good work again Sam

The contrast between modern country, justice and poor and homeless human here is the hidden idea behind this photo that you made it in a nice way. Thanks for it.

Mmmm. I bet that's cold. :( That sucks. The picture captures the emotion well, though. I like the framing of the shot.

awful thing. photo is good still

This is kind of a gutsy shot without a longer zoom lens like your 70-200mm. I like it. I like the ocean spray bottle placement in the middle of the frame.

I always have a hard time deciding whether or not to give money to the homeless. Comes from being scammed one too many times. Nevertheless, I feel for them. At some point I want to do a series on the homeless in Toronto. In the meantime, I've posted my black swan photo to my site because of your photo from yesterday.

Always glad to see socially conscious photography. You don't need to say anything, just show what's going on.

SAM I AM, wouldnt you look dumb taking a photo of a beggar, seriously...

You are a good being Sam.

Sometimes I think I've become oblivious to the homeless people because I see them so often.

This shot snaps me back to reality. I think it's the look of desperation in his eyes. Breaks my heart.

I wonder what his name is.

I really like the picture. It is very clean and simple and there is not much going on that takes the eye away from the subject... The wall adds to the cold feeling of the photo... Let's hope that the snow will melt away soon though...

With all my due pity, I still wonder how young and probably healthy people can end up begging?

"SAM I AM, wouldnt you look dumb taking a photo of a beggar, seriously..."

how can someone say this? I feel more sorry for the author of this sentence then for this homeless guy...
