Comments: icy lake

is this all one image? based on the perspective of the ducks at the bottom, it appears to be put together using photoshop again...either way, i really enjoy it

I love being surprised by the three swans at the bottom -- especially the one with its head underwater! They make the picture a little more unusual.

Nice photo. I like the sprinkling of black ducks amongst the white swans. In Spain, I saw my first black swans. Maybe I'll post them to my site tomorrow.

Wild goose chase! :^)
Perhaps it's been covered and I missed it. How do you get such LONG shots? Are they panoramas stitched together?

A great scene... the water color seems very real... and the subjects quite endearing. As usual, a great piece of work. Thanks for sharing it with us, Sam.

beautiful shot. how did you manage to get so close to the swans? arenīt they kind of shy? maybe itīs a real zoom-up. good work!

I am frequent visitor of your posts. What i notice in your photos is that some of your photos contain multidimensional sense(?). For eg: in this pic i am seeing the swans in the lake which is from an upper angle and at the same time the distant frozen lake too from a horizontal view point. Is this the regular situation in advanced photography or is it something special through some technique. What is the technique here?
simple

nice perspective i like the angle it's at

Beautiful.

I love the emerald-green water contrasting with the pure white swans and their orange beaks.

The ducks look so small along side the swans!

Awesome catch! Glad you were able to stick the geese into the photo. Adds a slight 'cute' factor.

Great shot wvs, but I have to tell you, there isn't much dry land south of Toronto! Not until you hit New York state anyway!!1

/Probly meant south Toronto

I like this one, it has an interesting range of scales from a heavy sky to the foreground detail.

Great shot, looks very cold. The swans in the front make a good contrast.

the swan with it's head under-- i love how you captured that moment. its wonderful.

Posted by kandi at February 25, 2005 07:49 PM

very good, i find the scrooling annoying sometimes, but in this one it really works, unfolding the picture gradually

Posted by fernando at February 25, 2005 08:41 PM

Nice shot, I like the length of it. I also like the swans near the bottom. And how the land in the distance is perfectly horizontal.

Posted by Raffi at February 25, 2005 08:44 PM

Yes, great shot, but I would be interested to know, like others here, what lens you used?

Posted by Ted at February 25, 2005 08:48 PM

The shy one in the front is like a jumbo, white-meat chicken wing to me. Nice.

Aaaaawwwww, the little ducks are so cute...and I love the body language of the swans and the details of the ice, it gives the photo a suggestion of danger.

Nice photo! I just love the relationship of the background and foreground, the three swans relative the rest.
