Comments: downtown lights

I really like this one. Great colours, and I like how it's slightly confusing. With all of the reflections and bright lights it takes a second to figure out what is exactly going on outside the window.

Great job!

I agree. The mixture of reflections and lights is what I like. This pic also has a lot of energy and so it draws me in ... it makes me want to stare at it and keep figuring it out.

Thats a really cool shot Sam. The lights are awsome. Im a big fan of reflection shots.

Down with Aden... for their poor customer support. I just hope you were ducking into that pizza shop to avoid the police patrol that was searching for whoever had vandalized the Aden store with a giant wall sized photo print that read "Aden's customer service sucks!" (just kidding)

Wow I really like the feeling i get from this. LOMOesque Is it a single exposure?

Bottle inside the recycle logo. Cool!

Very nice, it looks like a multiple exposure.

Nice - as usual (I like almost every publicised photo of yours). Was it just a coincidence that aden store appeared on the photo? :)

Heh. And Aden never has what you're looking for. I need to get my butt to Henry's sometime soon.

And I know that place! That's where I go to school! The picture's kind of strange, it makes the Pizza menu look like its a street/store sign.

Wonderful! Reminds me of a Richard Estes painting.

I like how the array of reflections is disorienting... it could be an essay on the fragmented nature of postmodern urban life.

Nice work!

Reminds me of Vegas, lots of activity and color. Doesn't look like many people are paying attention to the stop light.

Maran, that bottle inside the recycle logo is an ad on the side of the trash bin: http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/wesads/litter/pdf/recycle_on_the_go.pdf

I've bought stuff from Aden with no problems.

hahah what a crazy shot! So many mixes of lights, my camera would never be able to pick up so much light without flash.

Could you plz tell me how you manage to get all those dark shots so nicely, without using any form of flash? I have a very capable Nikon camera I just need some hints on how to use it to its capabilities...

One of your best.

I almost didn't notice the legs on the bottom, but they make the shot that much better...

I bought my 20d from Aden, they really don't have great customer service, they're more about the sale than places like downtown camera, where you feel more like you're talking to someone who's a camera enthusiast too. I know they're all salesmen but I don't get hassled in downtown camera to buy accessories, bags, etc with my purchase.

But, Aden are often the cheapest. My 20d was several hundred dollars less than you can buy it anywhere and no one else would match the price. Now the aden price is back up too though.

Zanzibar! Where the girls never stop!

A chaotic scene, but well-controlled. Love how it captures the hustle and bustle of our busiest street.

Don't go to ADEN if you are concerned about customer service. They may be a little cheaper on SOME things on the surface, but they are useless when it comes to dealing with service issues after sales and they have a bad return policy.

I purchased a camera from them because it was a little cheaper ($30 savings) but I immediately discovered from my brother that the accessory stuff like the battery and recharger kit and compact flash card ended up costing me $100 more. Serves me right for not checking my prices beforehand. Anyway, they would not take back the unopened compact flash card, even though I contacted them immediately the next day about it. It is part of their policy to not take any film/media back. The batteries, which were a no-name (Power2000) product, corroded on my 3 week vacation to Asia and I started experiencing problems with my camera. When I brought the camera back to the store for repair under warrantee, they charged me a shipping fee to send the camera to Canon - I thought that was included as part of their AUthorized Dealer service - not so. They charged me $15 + tax = $17.25. On the battery kit, only the charger was warranteed, not the batteries themselves (another reason to think about the savings you get with no-name products). I guess I have option of buying more batteries to use in the charger, but I don't want to buy the same brand of batteries and the warning is there to use the same battery brand to avoid problems.

A month later ADEN called me to say my camera was ready. When I went to the store, I discovered that Canon made a mistake and sent me another customer's camera. So I had to wait some more. After not hearing from the store for a month, I called ADEN and they in turn called Canon and said my camera should be ready later in the week. I waited 3 days. Then I called ADEN again to check to make sure it was in the shop and they said they did not get the camera from Canon and do not know when it would be in although they were told it would be ready that same week. I ended up getting the Canon contact information and calling Canon myself directly. Canon called me back the next day and the camera was shipped a day later to ADEN. The packing slip which I had to ask ADEN for indicated any problems with the repaired camera needed to be reported within 3 days of return and the the repair was warranteed for 90 days. This was not mentioned to me by the store and I wouldn't have known about this policy if I didn't ask for the packing slip.

I will not buy another item from ADEN no matter how cheap it is. And I would not recommend for anyone else to go there either. No need to encourage them as they are the model of very bad customer service.
