Comments: one point perspective

Reminds me of hanging roller coasters! Wonderful take.

that's pretty sweet. I remember you said something about writing a short tutoral on 'sharpening' and different tricks in photoshop a long time ago, on the forum ... hope you'll find some time to do that cuz, um, well yuor photos are pretty sharp, and I think it'll be super useful.

Anyway, cheers.

That's an excellent abstraction -- looks like a street from some weird sci-fi movie

Posted by helgi at January 28, 2005 03:25 AM

that ad in the pic left corner looks distinctly like ex-Indian-PM rajiv gandhi. he was assassinated by a suicide bomber for the LTTE, but many people who loved him think he's still alive. for a second, i thought that misconception had reached till toronto. :)

It's staggering!

This is a cool photo. The black tracks down the center of the roof look like road markings on some road through a Blade Runner-esque city. Very surreal.

This is insane. Great photo, and an absurd point of view. I like it.

Sam, how many time do I have to tell you?! You have to walk on your FEET when your in public...

I LOVE THIS PIC! It's the only pic that I've ever seen that gives me the exact same "whirl" in my stomach as when you drive over a big hill really quickly. Love it...

Wow... at first my eyes darted to the back of the image but then it became apparent that the photo was indeed reversed. But then, I realized it was my perception of it that was reversed. Sam, you continue to amaze me. Deciding to make this photo black & white was a decision only someone with your creative outlook could do so beautifully.

Thank you for enriching my life, one morning at a time.

Nice- I like the rotation. Is that a Giant Potato sitting in one of those seats on the left???

Posted by designguy at January 28, 2005 09:07 AM

What an interesting shot! It's a little dizzying when you realize it's upside down. I like it.

Posted by sherry at January 28, 2005 09:32 AM

Weeee! I like this!

Posted by Robbie Becklund at January 28, 2005 10:11 AM

Those people are sitting on the ceiling! :)

Posted by Chris at January 28, 2005 10:14 AM

I really like this one upside down, honestly. It makes it a lot more interesting. The values on this shot are really interesting. It's surprisingly clear for being handheld.

All in all, I'd say "good work" on this shot.

P.S. Isn't it amazing that we got the $4000 raised so quickly? It feels good to be a part of such a powerful community.

Eeeeek- this looks like a Twilight Zone nightmare - I bet it's moving in slow motion. But it IS interesting!

I like this pic. The hand bars start to squigle at the top, which makes it look cooler. it looks like the streetcar just goes and goes and never ends. I like this pic and how its upside down.

"Open the pod bay doors, HAL!"

Another Kubrick-esque photo; clear, sharp, full range of exposure. Very nice.

This photo makes me feel like I'm falling!

Posted by jyoseph at January 28, 2005 05:56 PM

Excellent, total vertigo dude! No bad things to think of, excellent composition overall... Top notch.

Posted by Lorin Halpert at January 28, 2005 08:15 PM

very very interesting shot, the dark part right at the back....its as if its about to move forward...slowly, spooky.

Posted by paul at January 28, 2005 09:12 PM

first timer here, gotta know you thru bloggies. anyways, its beautiful! although it made my head hurt.

Posted by chloe at January 28, 2005 09:15 PM

1.perfect
2.crazy angle!
3.best!

Posted by LEOVA at January 29, 2005 10:18 AM

Not a potato, no. It is the hood of someone wearing a parka. And, there is an advertisement saying something about improving your sex life. Sheesh.
It's like one of those subliminal messages or something.

Posted by . at January 29, 2005 11:43 PM

The angle, the upside down, and the color (yes I know it's b&w, u know what I mean) are great.

I'm amazed at the sharpness of the pic. 1/5s? How did you hold the camera? Handheld at slower than 1/15 and it's game over for me.

Posted by terrandabo at January 30, 2005 12:39 PM

Man, I do the same things. Turn some pics to see how the world is "up legs"
Check my example (http://blog.glij.com/index.php?hoy=127)

AHHH.
This scared me...
especialy because I'm terribly afraid of heights.

It makes you feel as if the train car just de-railed and you are now falling.

creazy shot, but a like it.
